Golden Valley residents Chris Marie and Michelle Pesatuero pose with the Christmas light and display extravaganza. Each year, Marie decorates her Yamaha Rhino for Christmas and drives it to town to pass out candy canes. Marie estimates she has 50,000 lights, some synced to Christmas music; more than 27 lighted deer with moving heads; a moose; a seal; penguins; 38 blow-up displays including a 16-foot tall Santa with a hot air balloon, a 12-foot Santa and a 12-foot snowman. The display will remain up through Jan. 1 and is located at 2225 S. Dome Road in Golden Valley. Get there by driving to mile marker 17 on Highway 68, turn south on Egar Road and drive about 4½ miles to Tapeats Road, turn right and drive ½ mile to Dome. Two collection boxes are on a trailer hooked up her Christmas-decorated Yamaha Rhino. One box is for Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots donations, the other for a non-kill animal rescue shelter. All of the toys will be turned over to the Marine League Detachment 887 and will be distributed to needy local children in Bullhead City, Kingman and surrounding areas. Families who would like to receive toys for their children are encouraged to call (928) 754-2134 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays in the Bullhead City and Mohave Valley areas, and (928) 718-8697 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays for all other northern Mohave County areas to register.
